Responsibilities
Review complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including C-corporations, S-corporations, and partnerships
Review complex U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, trust, and estate tax returns
Review and manage deliverables including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and write-up work for all entity types
Conduct complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries and prepare technical tax memorandum outlining findings and conclusions
Manage several client relationships and be able to explain complex terms and facts clearly
Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax plans and projections for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
Research the implications of tax laws and advise clients on tax related issues
Provide guidance and training to associates and peers
Delegate projects to staff that can handle them most efficiently and provide accounting and tax assistance to staff as needed
Prepare engagement letters for services to be provided
Respond to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices
Serve as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating expertise in tax matters and guiding them towards tailored tax strategies
Actively participate in business development opportunities and expanding a personal network of professional contacts

Qualifications
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in public accounting with emphasis in taxation
CPA certification
Minimum of 3 years reviewing all types of tax returns and supervising staff
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Strong project and client management skills
Ability to give and receive constructive criticism
Strong technical skills in accounting and tax
Compensation & Benefits
401(k) with match – 100% match, up to 3%, then 50% of the next 2%, totaling a maximum of 4% for one year tenure employees
