About the Role
Four Seasons Hotel and Residences New Orleans is currently seeking passionate and enthusiastic candidates to join our dynamic Commercial team as Director of Sales. Ideal candidates are dedicated to creating personalized experiences and lasting memories for our guests. This position reports to the Commercial Director.
What You Will Do
Support Commercial Director in achieving overall business objectives and in the formulation of strategies to ensure business attainment.
Manage the Sales team and oversee daily sales operations.
Review sales production and implement sales action plans to achieve the budget goals.
Work closely with the Revenue Management team to produce accurate forecasts and make adjustments as needed after strategy meetings for yield optimization.
Maximize sales in all hotel revenue areas. Support Catering, F&B Outlets, Spa and Front Office in selling efforts.
Possess strong decision‑making, selling, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Organize, delegate and work under pressure. Coach and develop skills are also expected.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct personal behavior in a mature professional business manner when representing the hotel or company.
Advance computer skills and knowledge including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internet.
Maintain reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
Travel required for sales trips, conferences, training and special events.
Additional Job Functions Marketing Planning
Identify sources of group business and establish solicitation programs to maximize sales.
Help identify sources of individual business and allocate resources to develop relationships with them.
Supervise and monitor the compilation of accurate account information and keep this information up to date.
Maintain accurate forecasting for all group/TI and Corporate segments and identify valley periods for sales emphasis.
Assist in the development of the annual marketing plan, ensure projects are executed for all market areas as stated in the hotel marketing plan with emphasis on increasing sales and profitability, review market analysis and determine client needs, occupancy potential, rates desired, etc.
Sales Administration
Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure work is of the highest level.
Be responsible for all aspects of systems, administration, database and facilities of on-site sales activities including procedures and processes specific to the daily operation of the sales team. Responsible for overseeing the contract document negotiations process and reporting processes.
Manage specific markets and segmentations.
Establish programs and direct efforts to achieve group, TI and Corporate room night goals and to develop ongoing relationships with customers.
Monitor sales production and adjust sales activities, account coverage and sales priorities as necessary to achieve plan goals.
Establish travel schedules and monitor travel expenses to optimize sale productivity.
Maintain regular communication with all key accounts and Four Seasons Worldwide Sales Offices and other sources of sales information and support.
Plan, establish goals for, and administer outbound sales function to deliver qualified leads to other Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
Develop annual sales department budget and execute the sales programs and activities within it.
Take full responsibility for representing and managing Four Seasons Hotel account management system.
Develop and implement strategies to exceed financial results and drive market share, customer satisfaction, employee loyalty, owner loyalty, and brand strength for the hotel.
Sales Personnel Development
Hire, retain and develop diverse, high‑caliber talent that makes a strong positive impact on the organization, and creates and sustains a work environment that embraces the brand’s culture, ensures fair and equitable treatment and associate satisfaction to enable business success.
Assure understanding of Position Description, goals, and Standards of Performance for sales department personnel; and conduct formal annual evaluations and ongoing coaching and counseling.
Selling
Establish personal sales goals and be responsible for a representative selection of key accounts.
Conduct weekly production review of each sales personnel.
Conduct sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections and entertainment.
Inventory Management
In conjunction with the Commercial Director, Director of Revenue, Director of Catering and other department heads, maximize rooms inventory and catering space, identify opportunities for focused sales programs.
Coordinate group room forecasts and prospects with the events management and reservations department to help the hotel achieve maximum capacity room use.
Communications
Maintain close, frequent, open communication with the Commercial Director and other Sales & Marketing department heads.
Maintain supportive, timely communications with Four Seasons Worldwide Sales Offices.
Coordinate communication between Sales Department and operating departments of the hotel.
Update operating departments of the hotel to ensure awareness of bookings and sales programs.
Maintain timely and responsive communication with accounts and prospects.
Ensure all communications to client’s professional.
Others
Foster a high level of morale among the Sales team members.
Assume other duties as requested by the Management of Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Business/Marketing or Hospitality/Tourism management preferred.
Minimum 3 years work experience as Director of Sales, luxury experience preferred.
Excellent problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills.
