We have been hired by a 100+ year-old Bay Area HVAC and plumbing company to find an experienced Controller to lead accounting, job costing, and financial reporting for a complex, multi-division operation. They provide services across commercial construction, HVAC, plumbing, engineering, BIM, and service & repair.

This role is on-site in Berkeley, CA!

About the Role

Lead job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting

Partner with operations on project margins, labor costs, and pricing

Oversee accounting for construction, service, and maintenance agreements

Managing bank scrutiny, new line of credit, and quarterly financial covenants

Manage AR/AP, cash flow forecasting, and internal controls

Improve systems, reporting, and financial processes

Qualifications

8+ years accounting experience

Experience with $10-20M revenue companies

Strong cost accounting, WIP, percentage-of-completion, lien release experience

Experience in HVAC, plumbing, construction, or specialty contracting

Vista Viewpoint software experience preferred

Compensation

Year-end profitability bonus ($5-10k/yr typical)
