ProFound Therapeutics provided pay range This range is provided by ProFound Therapeutics. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $181,500.00/yr
ABOUT PROFOUND THERAPUETICS ProFound Therapeutics is pioneering the discovery of the expanded human proteome to unlock a new universe of potential therapeutics. By integrating multi‑omics, advanced computation, and translational biology, we aim to reveal and characterize thousands of previously uncharted proteins and systematically explore their role in health and disease.
THE ROLE We are seeking a highly motivated (Senior) Scientist to join our growing translatomics team. In this role, you will lead experimental and analytical efforts at the intersection of RNA biology, translation, and sequencing technologies. You will design and conduct molecular biology experiments, run next‑generation sequencing (NGS) workflows on‑site, and analyze resulting data using Python, R, and bioinformatics tools. Working across early‑stage discovery programs, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing novel sequencing‑based assays — with a focus on translational regulation and ribosome profiling — to uncover insights that drive therapeutic innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in early methods development and discovery projects that demand innovative, creative thinking, providing the opportunity to lead from conception through analysis.
Design and conduct molecular biology experiments in RNA biology and eukaryotic translation.
Analyze NGS data using bioinformatics software and existing pipelines.
Conduct additional sequencing data analysis in R or Python for specific queries beyond existing capabilities.
Effectively communicate, interpret, and present outcomes.
Keep precise records of protocols and experimental details in an electronic lab notebook.
Required Skills:
Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, synthetic biology, or a related field, or equivalent experience and track record. A Ph.D. with 2+ years of industry or academic experience is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of RNA biology and eukaryotic translation mechanisms.
Practical experience with RNA workflows such as IVT, hybridization, and cell‑free translation.
Proficiency in RNA and DNA purification, qPCR, and cloning.
Experience with NGS, including sample handling and routine data analysis.
Experience with ribosome profiling is highly beneficial.
Proficiency in data visualization using Python or R.
Contributions to research articles and patents on custom sequencing‑based applications are highly advantageous.
VALUES & BEHAVIORS We are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong communication skills, and comfort working in and contributing to a dynamic and cross‑functional team environment. The level of the role will be commensurate with the education and years of experience of the identified candidate.
We recognize there is no perfect candidate. If you have some of the experience listed above but not all, please apply anyway. Experience comes in many forms, skills are transferable, and passion goes a long way. We are dedicated to building diverse and inclusive teams and look forward to learning more about your unique background.
RECRUITMENT & STAFFING AGENCIES Flagship Pioneering and its affiliated Flagship Lab companies (collectively, “FSP”) do not accept unsolicited resumes from any source other than candidates. The submission of unsolicited resumes by recruitment or staffing agencies to FSP or its employees is strictly prohibited unless contacted directly by Flagship Pioneering’s internal Talent Acquisition team. Any resume submitted by an agency in the absence of a signed agreement will automatically become the property of FSP, and FSP will not owe any referral or other fees with respect thereto.
We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
