US DOJ Antitrust Division Role Summary

The Software Architect will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise application architectures supporting mission?critical government systems. This role is responsible for defining architecture blueprints, application frameworks, and integration strategies across complex enterprise ecosystems. The position is fully onsite in Washington, DC and requires strong technical leadership, communication skills, and the ability to clearly articulate architectural decisions to both technical and non?technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of enterprise application architecture strategies aligned with business and IT objectives Oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, from ideation and design through deployment and ongoing support Design and ensure seamless integration of applications across multiple platforms and systems, ensuring interoperability and high availability Define and implement integration patterns using APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms Lead the design and implementation of cloud?native and hybrid application solutions using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Optimize applications for cloud environments, focusing on scalability, security, and high availability Guide teams through cloud adoption and application migration efforts Document enterprise application architectures, including technical specifications, process flows, and integration patterns Provide technical leadership to cross?functional teams, reviewing work and mentoring experienced professionals Communicate architectural decisions effectively to customers and stakeholders, including discussing emerging and upcoming technologies

Required Technical Skills

Enterprise application architecture design and implementation Software development experience (minimum 5+ years) APIs and microservices?based application integration Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Cloud?native and hybrid application architectures Application development methodologies: Agile, DevOps, CI/CD Sprint Pointing experience Modern application architectures including microservices Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) Kubernetes?based container orchestration Enterprise application platforms (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Oracle) Application security practices, including secure coding and data protection SQL and NoSQL databases and enterprise data integration Translating business requirements into technical solutions

Preferred / Nice?to?Have Skills

Designing and architecting hybrid cloud applications Strong understanding of DevOps principles applied to enterprise architectures Experience integrating machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) into enterprise applications Certifications such as: TOGAF AWS Certified Solutions Architect Azure Solutions Architect Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 7+ years of experience in software architecture with a focus on enterprise applications 35 years of hands?on enterprise architecture experience 2+ years of experience leading or supervising teams or projects Proven ability to influence stakeholders across multiple teams and organizations Excellent verbal and written communication skills
