About the Role DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong product mindset. As the Engineering Manager, Android, you will lead a group of talented backend and Android engineers to develop impactful features and scalable platforms, collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners, execute a strategic roadmap that enhances merchant satisfaction, and shape the team’s technical vision for the future.
What you'll do
Work with cross‑functional partners from product, design, analytics, engineering, and S&O.
Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 9+.
Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting‑edge technologies, and outside‑of‑the‑box thinking.
Scale the team by recruiting, retaining, and developing highly talented engineers across disciplines.
What we’re looking for
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
3+ years of people‑management experience leading full‑stack product teams.
2+ years of experience leading Android engineers.
8+ years of industry experience.
A strong product sense and ability to partner with cross‑functional peers.
Experience selecting and adopting web technologies to improve testing and performance.
A customer‑centric mindset applied to building platform services.
Growth mindset and eagerness to expand skill set in a hyper‑growth setting.
Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary is localized and ranges from $193,800 to $285,000 USD in the United States. In addition to base salary, this role includes opportunities for equity grants. DoorDash offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 401(k) plan with employer matching, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, wellness benefits, commuter benefits match, paid time off, paid sick leave, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 11 holidays, disability and life insurance, family‑forming assistance, and a mental health program.
Paid Time Off Details
For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (≈6.7 hours/month at 40 hrs/week) and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (≈5.8 hours/month at 40 hrs/week).
