Job Description Position requires a Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance with a Polygraph. The ElasticSearch Systems Engineer SME role provides support across an Agile team in a DevSecOps environment. This role will configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a large enterprise ElasticSearch deployment in both cloud (AWS) and on‑premise environments.

Senior (6‑10 years’ experience)
Expert (11‑15 years’ experience)
SME (16+ years’ experience)
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain Elasticsearch clusters in a cloud‑based environment across multiple availability zones.
Ensure the clusters run optimally and evaluate performance, indexing, search, and security.
Maintain appropriate infrastructure for performance and data integrity.
Keep clusters upgraded as permitted by dependent applications.
Spin up / customize clusters for development and business needs.
Optimize indexes for business needs such as logging and enterprise search.
Troubleshoot cluster issues, from unassigned shards to node/cluster failures.
Work closely with architecture, engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure production scalability and stability.
Ensure cluster security and implement Elastic best practices.
Implement monitoring and alerting for Elasticsearch.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years experience with Elasticsearch Administration.
Direct experience maintaining and integrating Elasticsearch into an operational enterprise system.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Experience deploying and using Elasticsearch on commercial cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must have a Master’s degree with 15 or more years of prior relevant experience.
Optional Requirements
Experience working on customer’s systems.
Understanding of customer’s system development policies.
