Leidos is actively seeking a passionate, detailed-oriented problem-solver to serve as a System Engineer-Test Engineer in support of the Hypersonics Division. As a Hypersonics System Engineer-Test Engineer, you will lead and oversee test planning and execution for hypersonic systems within both digital and analog engineering environments. This role is responsible for developing technology maturation plans and managing their execution, ensuring all activities align with established engineering processes and safety standards. Primary Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive technology maturation plans for hypersonic systems and oversee their implementation.

Lead the creation and execution of subsystem and system-level test plans, leveraging established system requirements and subsystem designs.

Support requirements engineering, including decomposition of high-level requirements, verification requirements management, and integration/interface activities.

Document design and development plans and develop detailed test requirements and technical performance metrics.

Enforce engineering, laboratory, and safety standards; assist engineering teams in system test and documentation efforts.

Develop and refine test plans, procedures, and operational work instructions for test equipment to ensure traceability, repeatability, and compliance with current safety standards.

Plan and support functional, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and requirements verification tests at both subsystem and payload system levels.

Ensure test equipment designs are traceable to required data sets and verification methods.

Integrate, troubleshoot, debug subsystems and payload systems using modern electronic, electro-mechanical, and software-based tools and techniques.

Proactively identify potential roadblocks and develop innovative solutions, always prioritizing customer needs.

Collaborate with project managers and technical leads to provide input for schedules and project documentation; lead and support test readiness events.

Perform other related job duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university. Candidates should have 4 to 8 years of experience. Prefer at least

5 years

of relevant experience.

DOD Secret Clearance required.

Individual must be self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Proven significant experience working with inter-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems.

Demonstrated experience in test engineering for complex systems, preferably hypersonic or aerospace systems.

Strong background in requirements decomposition, verification, and integration.

Ability to present technical information to various project stakeholders (internal and external).

Proficiency in developing and executing test plans and procedures in digital and analog environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Familiarity with MBSE tools with a preference for experience with Cameo and/or DOORS.

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior work in DoD Missile, Reentry Vehicle, or Hypersonics fields.

Ability to stay focused and succeed in dynamic and fast paced environments.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Organizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information.

Experience applying systems engineering practices to support hypersonic programs with unique developmental constraints.
