Position Overview
Siemens Mobility is seeking a Director of Contract and Claims Management to join and support the Rolling Stock business in Sacramento, California. Ideally, you will have knowledge of government procurement and contracts, can negotiate and manage a variety of contract types, can prosecute and defend contract claims, and support procurement by advising on, negotiating, and drafting supplier contracts. You will have a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing process improvement. You will have validated leadership, technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Siemens Mobility operates in a highly regulated industry, and familiarity with regulations in respect of DOT, FRA, and FTA is a plus. Detailed Responsibilities
Support the development of process improvements to strengthen claims identification and prosecution Analyze, evaluate, and resolve diverse matters with customers, partners, and suppliers Identify and drive the project team to successfully assert and avert claims Identify and assess the contractual risks, opportunities, and requirements, and communicate the same Cooperate with the project management team to define the contract/legal strategy for projects Consult with management and draft official correspondence toward public owners and suppliers in a timely, clear, and professional manner Defend against external claims from customers, partners, and suppliers through the presentation of relevant exonerative facts and documentation Prepare for and participate in claim negotiations as well as pre‑litigation matters, together with project management Conduct legal research and writing Preferred Experience
Law degree (admitted to practice in a U.S. or foreign jurisdiction) and/or significant contract management experience Experience in preparing and defending claims against/from customers and suppliers Experience supporting the development of other contract managers Excellent claim drafting and defense skills are necessary to effectively perform the job requirements Proven experience in identifying risks and opportunities Ability to deliver high‑quality contract advice and draft related correspondence within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage ongoing assignments You’ll Benefit From

The pay range for this position is $216,954 - $255,306 annually with a target incentive of 20% of the base salary.
