Pay Range:

$50.05 - $75.10

Explore an exciting opportunity with AHWFB’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department as we eagerly welcome a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic outpatient team in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

As a valued member of our healthcare team, the PA/NP will play a key role in team‑focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in a clinic and inpatient setting. This role focuses on Hematology/Oncology Medicine, specializing in Pediatric patients and offers opportunities to participate in educational and scholarly activities that enhance our academic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

Use medical decision‑making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans.

Collaborate with the medical team when needed for effective team‑based care.

Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.

Explain the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients.

Participate in basic science and clinical research projects.

Precept students and/or medical learners.

Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.

Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred.

Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, certified by NCCPA.

HemOnc experience strongly preferred, can be as RN or APP.

BLS and ACLS certification required.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements

Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program; Master’s degree or higher required.

Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license.

Board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.

Prior HemOnc experience strongly preferred, can be as RN or APP.

APP post‑graduate experience strongly preferred; clinical experience inpatient or outpatient, especially within HemOnc, preferred.

BLS and ACLS certification required.
