Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Corporate Accounting Lead to oversee and manage our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting management, extensive knowledge of US GAAP, and expertise in ASC 606. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and the ability to drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the corporate accounting team, overseeing day-to-day operations and providing guidance on complex accounting issues
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and other applicable accounting standards
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain financial integrity and compliance
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant standards
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Monitor and analyze accounting pronouncements and implement changes as required
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification
  • 6-10 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong proficiency in US GAAP and financial reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and experience implementing revenue recognition standards
  • Excellent understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or MBA
  • Experience in a public accounting firm
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience with financial systems implementations or upgrades
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques
