Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Corporate Accounting Lead to oversee and manage our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting management, extensive knowledge of US GAAP, and expertise in ASC 606. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and the ability to drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the corporate accounting team, overseeing day-to-day operations and providing guidance on complex accounting issues
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and other applicable accounting standards
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain financial integrity and compliance
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
- Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant standards
- Coordinate and manage external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
- Monitor and analyze accounting pronouncements and implement changes as required
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification
- 6-10 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong proficiency in US GAAP and financial reporting
- In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and experience implementing revenue recognition standards
- Excellent understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Accounting or MBA
- Experience in a public accounting firm
- Knowledge of IFRS
- Experience with financial systems implementations or upgrades
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques
