Overview Synaptics is looking for a Solutions Marketing & Customer Engineering Director to join our dynamic and growing organization. You will be responsible for Solutions Marketing for the Embedded AI Processor Business within the EEPD Division. Your success is defined by securing new business opportunities, client relationships, growth strategies, and overall revenue generation for Synaptics. This position reports to the VP, Business and Market Development.
The typical base pay range for this position is USD $185,000 – $291,500 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits.
Responsibilities & Competencies Job Duties
Collaborate with BU leadership and internal stakeholders to understand our current products and offerings; framing market potential in analytic terms and translating business requirements into presentations to executive management
Partner with the Marketing and Strategy teams to analyze competitive landscape, market share and help coordinate sales efforts
Provide cross‑functional technical and business leadership that is responsible for driving customer program success, defining end‑to‑end system solutions and contributing to next‑generation SoC definition by quantifying solution value propositions, identifying target verticals, creating positioning frameworks, and supporting go‑to‑market strategy
Lead customer engagements from pre‑design‑win evaluation through production ramp, acting as the primary interface
Develop compelling customer solution presentations and proposals tailored to customer application requirements that showcase the Synaptics value proposition
Drive customer requirements alignment, milestone execution, and cross‑functional coordination across engineering, marketing, and operations. Support and develop customer SOWs and solution acceptance criteria
Manage escalations, change requests, and risk mitigation strategies to safeguard design‑win success and on‑time product delivery
Provide market‑driven definition of system solutions by analyzing customer segments, competitive landscapes, technology trends, and ecosystem requirements
Translate market insights, user pain points, and customer workflows into clear solution definitions—including required software components, reference architectures, integration paths, and ecosystem partners

Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communications skills to build rapport, actively listen, and effectively communicate with customers, partners, and cross‑company teams at all levels

Establishes clear expectations, sets objectives, and brings multiple parties together to drive key initiatives
Ability to strategically develop and execute comprehensive business solutions, establish priorities, and make decisions in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment
Effective time management and organization skills with the ability to effectively resource plan and prioritize across multiple functions at the company
Ability to overcome obstacles and motivated by the challenge of fast shifting market dynamics
Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
Proven track record of successful solutions creation, outbound marketing, or business development
Qualifications
Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration or related field or equivalent
15+ years of experience in customer solutions, segment development strategy, or technical marketing
Track record of identifying, developing solutions, and strategies for business opportunities
Up to 33% travel required
