Job Description As Area Executive Director, you lead strategic fundraising, develop high‑wealth relationships, drive revenue growth, and build a high‑performing team aligned with ALSAC’s mission.
Essential Job Functions
Strategic Fundraising Leadership
– Lead teams raising $25–$100M annually via annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate donations, events, and sponsorships.
Chief Fundraising Strategist
– Align area goals with fundraising programs, innovate strategies, and optimize resources for fiscal efficiency.
Relationship Development
– Cultivate high‑wealth donors, volunteers, and corporate partners; expand programs to maximize revenue.
Talent Acquisition & Leadership Development
– Recruit and retain top talent, model servant leadership, and foster growth, engagement, and succession planning.
Operational Excellence
– Oversee all offices, track performance, analyze metrics, and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
Governance & Compliance
– Enforce policies, manage budgets, and proactively resolve challenges with collaborative solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement
– Maintain positive relationships with board members, donors, third‑party organizations, and volunteers to represent ALSAC positively.
Portfolio Management
– Develop, maintain, and grow a portfolio of principal and major‑level donors and partners within the area.
Job Requirements
Education
– Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
Experience
– Minimum six years fundraising with progressive leadership, including supervision, budgeting, strategic planning, and organizational development.
Travel
– Ability to travel within Ohio and West Virginia, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Driver’s License
– Valid driver’s license required; position includes a company car, AAA membership, insurance, maintenance plan, fuel card, and eligible for personal use.
Skills
– Proven success in attracting and retaining top talent; strong diplomacy and relationship building with high‑wealth individuals and corporate partners; knowledge of philanthropic communities and community‑development best practices; ability to lead through ambiguity and adapt to unexpected challenges; excellent communication and public speaking skills.
