User Interface (UI) Systems Engineer/Product Owner
Leidos has an exciting opening for a TS/SCI cleared User Interface (UI) Systems Engineer/Product Owner to support DIA’s National Digital Exploitation and OSINT Center (NDOC) and the 10-year DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) contract. The role will design, develop, deploy, and test software solutions, collaborating closely with the Lead Systems Engineer, Release Train Engineer, and government leads to translate high‑priority product roadmap items into delivered solutions.
Primary workplace is the client location in Bethesda, MD, but the position offers a flexible schedule and occasional remote work.
Responsibilities
Lead a team that designs and develops the UI of software applications, managing risks, escalating impediments, and driving continuous process improvement.
Develop, manage, and continuously improve the backlog of work items for an Agile Scrum team.
Provide technical support for systems engineering activities, including requirements analysis, design, implementation planning, integration, testing, sustainment, documentation, deployment, and system assessment.
Support SAFe program increment planning through GitLab ticket creation and program/system documentation using Confluence.
Facilitate all Agile ceremonies (daily stand‑up, planning, reviews, retrospectives) and remove impediments or dependencies.
Refine backlog items regularly, breaking down features into stories, prioritizing, refining acceptance criteria, and removing irrelevant tickets.
Accept or reject completed work based on defined acceptance criteria to ensure high‑quality software delivery.
Qualifications (Required)
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of software or system engineering experience.
Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an Agile software development team.
Demonstrated ability to gather requirements and decompose complex problems into actionable steps.
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies (Planning, Retrospective, Grooming & Review/Demo).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate technical and non‑technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Proven cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, design, and project management teams.
Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and maintain strong relationships.
Preferred Skills
UI development experience, familiarity with React, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes.
Experience testing and debugging web applications.
Familiarity with UX design principles.
Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CPSO) or SAFe Agilist.
Pay Range: $107,900.00 – $195,050.00
