Responsibilities

Monitors and controls accounts receivable, ensuring cash collection goals are met and net revenue is accurately reported.

Facilitates weekly A/R meetings with the CEO and Business Office Manager to communicate results and address revenue‑related weaknesses.

Improves hospital profitability by monitoring costs, staffing levels, payer mix, length of stay, and negotiating terms with third‑party payers.

Develops and enforces policies and procedures that support cash flow, reduce operating costs, and increase revenues.

Prepares monthly financial statements, packages, and analyses, including account and variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls.

Provides reconciliations and reports to the Reimbursement, Tax, and Audit departments.

Prepares an annual budget in alignment with UHS standards, reviewing prior results and forecasting future needs.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years experience in a financial leadership role within a healthcare setting.

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge of hospital financial operations, federal and local tax regulations, and all administrative office processes from registration through discharge.

Strong skills in interpreting financial analysis, preparing schedules and reports, and manipulating data within spreadsheets and proprietary databases.

Ability to develop programs and assess their financial impact.

Approximately 2% travel.
