Chief Financial Officer - The Pavilion Behavioral Health System

Salary: USD $135,778.00 – $180,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
Monitors and controls accounts receivables; oversees business office functions to ensure cash collection goals are met and net revenue is properly stated. Facilitates weekly A/R meetings with the CEO and Business Office Manager to communicate results and monitor areas of weakness. Maintains the relationship between business office, intake and utilization review departments to maximize patient revenue.
Improves the profitability of the hospital by continually monitoring costs, particularly staffing relative to patient volume, and payor mix and length of stay. Assists in negotiating contract terms with third‑party payers, prepares pro‑forma analyses of new programs and contracts, and evaluates the success or failure of implemented programs including physician arrangements.
Develops and monitors policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduced operating costs, and increased revenues.
Prepares monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports and analyses. Uses account analysis, variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls to prepare detailed financial statements that accurately reflect monthly operating results.
Provides required reporting, including reconciliations, account analyses, and other information to the reimbursement department, tax department, auditors, etc., to aid in preparation of reports.
Prepares the annual budget in conjunction with UHS standards. Works with management and department heads to review prior financial results and discuss anticipated changes to highlight future needs and trends, tailoring hospital needs to UHS objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a healthcare setting.
Minimum education requirement: bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred).
Working knowledge of hospital financial operations, federal and local tax regulations, and all business office, accounting, payroll, and administrative operations from registration through discharge.
Skilled in interpreting financial analysis and performance information; preparing schedules and reports, using source data and compiling reports from others’ schedules; proficient with electronic spreadsheets and manipulating data within proprietary and acquired databases.
Travel: 2% of the time.
