Director of Operations - Home Care & Community Care Services
Compass Healthcare Consulting and Placement is searching for a Director of Operations for a Home Care & Community Care program in Chicago, IL. Qualified candidates will have 4 or more years of experience within Home Care, Community Health, Care Coordination, Case Management and/or Social Services Coordination as well as 2-3 years of Director level Operations experience in a home healthcare setting with the ability to oversee multiple staff within multiple departments.
Job Description The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all operational and financial performance. This leader will direct statewide home and community-based care programs, with great attention to the Community Care Unit and Licensed Home Care Services Agencies. The Director will ensure operational excellence, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, workforce optimization, and profitable growth.
This role requires an experienced Director of Operations with extensive experience in Home Care and Community Based Services, strong payer relation capabilities, and the capacity to lead high performing teams while driving continuous improvement across branch, field and care management functions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Business, Public Health, or related field. Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or related field, preferred
Minimum 4 - 6 years of progressive leadership experience within home health, home and community-based services, long-term care, or related healthcare fields.
Experience managing CCU programs within the Illinois market.
Strong background in managing LHCSA operations in multi-branch, multi-city environments.
Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams, multi-site operations, and P&L ownership.
Deep understanding of Illinois regulatory frameworks (IDoA, IDPH, HFS, CCU requirements).
Demonstrated success improving operational KPIs, compliance outcomes, and workforce performance.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills and process-driven
Familiarity with EMR platforms such as AlayaCare, HHA Exchange, or other large-scale homecare systems, preferred
Experience leading service-line expansion initiatives (infusion, private pay, complex care, etc.), preferred
Compensation Competitive salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 per year, plus excellent benefits package.
