Responsibilities
Bespoke building mechanical and plumbing system designs
Design heating, cooling, and ventilation load calculations
Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to engineers, project managers, and executives to improve product quality, efficiency and performance
Oversee and manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and budget adherence
Interface with clients, architects, and project stakeholders to develop innovative and sustainable mechanical designs
Generate, review and approve technical drawings, submittals, and specifications to ensure compliance with project goals
Evaluate project submittals, shop drawings and RFIs to determine conformance with contract documents and design requirements
Research and analyze customer project requirements, specifications, and data to assess feasibility, program application, and maintenance requirements
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve problems, implement solutions, and optimize project outcomes
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering and energy‑efficient building solutions
Provide technical guidance and professional development support to the team
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
Minimum 8 years of engineering experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in the HVAC design‑build environment
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California and MEOR responsibilities as required
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam
Expert knowledge of California Building Code, Title 24
Expert knowledge of ASHRAE guidelines 62.1, 55, 90.1
Expertise in HVAC systems, cooling and heating plants, and MEP design
Document technical review and quality control experience
Expertise in Project Coordination and Project Management
Experience in client relations and relationship management
Positive attitude, team player, commitment to achieving a common goal
Engineering team development, mentoring, and leadership
LEED Certification (preferred)
Knowledge of HVAC BAS/Controls
Expertise in System Basis of Design (BOD) and Sequence of Operation (SOO) development
