Overview A leading technology client in San Jose is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate hybrid infrastructure across public cloud and on‑prem datacenters. In this role, you will own cloud and container infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker), datacenter/server room operations, and high‑performance server, storage, and network platforms. You will collaborate closely with network, security, and operations teams, lead infrastructure projects, and drive optimization and best practices across server, storage, datacenter, and cloud domains.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure in AWS, Azure, and GCP, including Kubernetes/Docker container platforms.
Deploy, manage, and optimize container orchestration systems and monitor cloud resource utilization, recommending cost‑effective strategies.
Collaborate with datacenter/server room teams, provide operational leadership for new builds and upgrades, and ensure stable, high‑availability environments.
Design and operate high‑performance server, storage, and network systems (HPE, Cisco, Dell, Lenovo, NetApp), and run PoCs on new infrastructure products.
Define and document architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for datacenter and hybrid cloud solutions.
Partner with network, security, and operations teams to integrate solutions into the wider IT ecosystem and support company‑wide infrastructure projects.
Monitor IT resource utilization, develop optimization plans, and stay current with industry trends in server, storage, datacenter, cloud, and containers.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in CS/IT or related field with 5+ years (or Master’s with 3+ years) in infrastructure engineering.
4+ years’ experience in datacenter, server, and storage administration.
Broad hands‑on expertise with HPE, Cisco, Dell, Lenovo, NetApp, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes/containers, Linux, Windows Server, VMware/virtualization, clustering, AD, enterprise backup, and networking protocols.
Experience designing and supporting new datacenter construction/expansion projects and high‑speed networking in datacenter environments.
Strong understanding of hybrid on‑prem/cloud architectures and advanced problem‑solving skills.
Collaborative, curious, and innovative mindset with the ability to learn quickly and drive continuous improvement.
