Procon now seeks a Construction Inspector (Day Shift) - Federal Sector for an opportunity in the Washington, D.C. metro area. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with electrical upgrades/repairs, stone facade restoration, fountains/metals restoration, and other building façade and courtyard work. Responsibilities include reviewing blueprints, monitoring construction progress, inspecting interior and exterior work using survey instruments, taking photographs, and maintaining inspection logs.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years of experience or an associate degree in a construction-related field, trade school or equivalent certification, or 10 years of experience in a similar inspection role to waive school requirements.

OSHA 30 and USACE QCM certifications (can be obtained after hiring).

Government or military project experience.

Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related industry is preferred but not required.

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience with E‑Builder Construction Management software is preferred.

Responsibilities & Duties

Act as a multi‑trade complex building construction and renovation inspector, responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and performing general field inspections for all disciplines.

Inspect work on site for contract and code compliance, recommend approvals or rejections of materials and workmanship, monitor labor and safety requirements, and complete written inspection reports and defect logs.

Establish detailed inspection requirements, schedules, and control methods under a QC procedure, ensuring work aligns with specifications and drawings.

Report labor standards compliance with the Davis‑Bacon Act to the AOC COTR for action.

Monitor construction activities, emphasizing milestones, sequencing, and submittals, and inform the COTR/CM of progress and any contract‑related impacts.

Provide daily site photos for the AOC’s photo management software and prepare information for the weekly AOC project report.

Inspect construction work against specifications and drawings, and verify GC compliance with safety regulations and the Project Safety Plan.

Document and report any non‑compliance or life‑threatening conditions to the government and assist in remedying such situations.

Prepare accident and incident reports as instructed by the COR/PM/CM and complete daily construction activity reports in PMIS software.

Coordinate with AOC testing service contractors, ensuring proper scheduling of inspections and proper filing and verification of field reports.
