Senior Tax Manager | Provisions

Base Pay Range
$165,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr
Additional Compensation Types Annual Bonus
Location Hybrid position in Charlotte, NC (2-3 days/week). Relocation assistance offered if not already local.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the quarterly and annual income tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740, including analysis, reconciliation, and financial statement disclosures.
Direct the global tax compliance function, ensuring timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including estimated payments and extensions.
Oversee and maintain internal controls over financial reporting for taxes, ensuring SOX compliance and documentation.
Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives that support the business and reduce effective tax rates while ensuring compliance.
Manage all tax audits, including income, indirect, and international tax examinations; prepare audit responses and liaise with taxing authorities.
Lead and support M&A and financing activities, including tax due diligence, integration, and structuring support.
Collaborate with third-party tax consultants on projects such as transfer pricing, R&D and energy credits, and debt refinancing strategies.
Provide coaching, leadership, and professional development for a high-performing tax team.
Monitor and interpret changing tax laws and accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance and proactive planning.
Manage global tax forecasts and analyze variances in tax expense and cash tax performance.
Oversee indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including U.S. and Canadian sales/use tax, GST/HST, property tax, and excise tax.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.
CPA license and/or Master’s in Taxation is preferred.
10–15 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a corporate environment with complex operations.
Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements as they relate to taxation.
Proficiency with tax software platforms (preferably OneSource) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing direct reports and cross‑functional collaboration.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across all levels of the organization.
