Marine Solutions is currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in our Newark, New Jersey office. Marine Solutions is a specialized marine engineering and construction firm serving clients in the government (federal, state, local), transportation, energy, industrial, water, and commercial markets. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Project Engineer position performs a variety of engineering duties, including field inspection, material testing, evaluation, analysis, design, and technical document preparation under the direction of a higher-level engineer. Project Engineers must conduct assigned engineering work in compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and internal procedures and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs field inspection and evaluation of structures under direction of a higher-level engineer.
Performs testing of materials and incorporates results into reports under direction of a higher-level engineer.
Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices under direction of a higher-level engineer.
Prepares comprehensive engineering documents including inspection reports, design plans and specifications under direction of a higher-level engineer.
Actively participates in internal project meetings and works to actively resolve project issues.
Actively promotes a safe work culture.

YOU WILL NEED
Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in structural engineering.
Proficiency in computer‑assisted structural engineering and office software and equipment.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language.
Ability to define problems, collect/interpret data, evaluate facts, draw valid conclusions, and effectively communicate findings/results.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and effectively.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited four-year university.
0–4 years of relevant engineering experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT)
Valid U.S. Driver's License

PHYSICAL REQUISITES, WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field, the intern may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time. COMPENSATION The salary range is $79,000 to $91,000 for positions filled in New Jersey.
