The Project Engineer performs a variety of engineering duties including field inspection, material testing, evaluation, analysis, design, and technical document preparation under the direction of a higher-level engineer. This role requires compliance with applicable codes, engineering practices, and internal procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs field inspection and evaluation of structures under direction of a higher-level engineer. Performs testing of materials and incorporates results into reports. Conducts complex engineering computations using conventional practices. Prepares comprehensive engineering documents such as inspection reports, design plans, and specifications. Actively participates in internal project meetings to resolve project issues. Promotes a safe work culture. Requirements

Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in structural engineering. Proficiency in computer-assisted structural engineering and office software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently. Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited four-year university. 0–4 years of relevant structural design engineering experience. Minimum Qualifications

Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT). Valid U.S. driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications

FHWA‑NHI training (various topics). ADCI Commercial Diver, SPRAT Rope Access Technician. OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety Course, NASBLA Boater Safety Course. First Aid, CPR & O2 Provider, TWIC Card, Valid U.S. passport, Commercial DOT medical card. Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Safety

The role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, use of hands, and speaking/hearing. Lifting of up to 25–50 pounds may be necessary. Field work may involve rugged conditions, adverse weather, and long periods of standing. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
