Job Description:
Our client, a rapidly growing automation and advanced manufacturing organization, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of custom automated systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact automation projects, integrating mechanical design, robotics, motion control, and manufacturing processes to deliver innovative solutions for industrial customers.
What You’ll Do
Design and develop automated machinery, tooling, and mechanical assemblies for manufacturing environments.
Collaborate with electrical and controls engineers to integrate motion systems, robotics, pneumatics, and sensors.
Perform 3D CAD modeling, mechanical calculations, drawings, and documentation (SolidWorks/Inventor).
Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and system validation.
Conduct root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement on existing automation equipment.
Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and on‑site equipment installations.
Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
What We’re Looking For
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally in automation, custom machinery, robotics, or manufacturing equipment.
Strong background in machine design, CAD modeling, and mechanical systems (pneumatics, actuators, robotics, conveyors, etc.).
Experience with GD&T, DFM/DFA, and troubleshooting mechanical assemblies.
Hands‑on mindset with the ability to support builds and field work when needed.
Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
Familiarity with PLC‑controlled systems (bonus).
