Role Overview
ECC to S/4HANA Migration Consultant – US citizen (USC/GC) required, located Springfield, IL, onsite or hybrid. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive current‑state process mapping and identify gaps versus S/4HANA best practices. Lead workshops with business users to capture process insights, pain points, and improvement opportunities. Analyze ECC system usage, custom development inventory, interfaces, and enhancements to support migration planning. Assess custom code remediation needs and impact on business processes. Support definition of future‑state options, migration approach, process redesign level, and transformation enablers. Develop clear summaries, findings, and recommendations for stakeholders. Engage with cross‑functional teams, including McKinsey consultants, and adapt to structured problem‑solving approaches. Qualifications
Core SAP Expertise: strong S/4HANA architecture knowledge, migration path evaluation (Brownfield, Selective Data Transition, Greenfield), SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item Catalogue, and Business Process Discovery tools. Functional Expertise: deep functional knowledge of ECC modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, PM, HCM, FM/GM) and transition to S/4HANA equivalents (Universal Journal, Business Partner Model, Asset Accounting, MRP Live, etc.). Technical Skills: analysis of ECC system usage, custom development, integration technologies (PI/PO, BTP Integration Suite, APIs), data profiling, preliminary data migration considerations, sizing, performance implications, and high‑level technical architecture changes. Functional & Process Assessment: conduct current‑state mapping, identify gaps, facilitate workshops, and identify process improvement opportunities enabled by S/4HANA functionality. Analysis & Advisory: synthesize system data, process information, and technical findings into actionable insights; perform impact assessments across functional areas and technology components. Consulting & Stakeholder Engagement: strong communication skills for engaging state stakeholders; documentation abilities (process flows, capability assessments, system impact summaries, data/integration inventories). Optional / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Public‑sector SAP transformation program participation; large ECC‑to‑S/4HANA assessment or roadmap projects; business case development or TCO considerations; change management or organizational readiness assessments. Seniority Level
