Road to Hire is seeking an exceptional, mission‑aligned

Chief Advancement Officer (CAO)

to join its executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The CAO will be a founding member of the new Executive Leadership Team, serving as a key partner to the CEO and overseeing multiple revenue‑generating functions.

Location Requirements:

Hybrid position requiring full‑time residence in the Charlotte region with required in‑office presence Tuesday through Thursday; remote days possible depending on meeting schedules. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required.

Position Summary:

The CAO will manage a portfolio of high‑impact work that generates direct revenue to support the mission. The role will oversee two interconnected, revenue‑generating functions, directly supervising four staff members: three team leaders (Corporate Partnerships; Workforce/Apprenticeships; and Alumni) and one individual contributor (Donor Associate).

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as Chief Major Gifts Officer, partnering with CEO to grow and diversify philanthropic and corporate investment portfolio locally and nationally.

Lead workforce, innovation, and alumni network teams focused on corporate partnerships, workforce development, and alumni engagement.

Oversee multi‑team operations at scale, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in fundraising, corporate engagement, or related fields.

Strategic, high‑capacity executive leadership skills.

Strong partnership skills with senior leadership.

Experience managing cross‑functional teams and revenue‑generating initiatives.

Target Compensation:

$150-$158K depending on experience + full benefits.
