The System Director of Pharmacy provides strategic leadership, operational direction, and clinical oversight for all pharmacy services across Munson Healthcare. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and financially responsible medication use throughout all hospitals and service lines, ambulatory sites, home infusion, oncology and infusion, specialty pharmacy, DME, and 340B. The System Director ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements; leads the development of systemwide clinical programs; drives standardization, quality, and performance improvement; and partners with executives, physician leaders, and operational leaders to advance enterprise pharmacy strategy and outcomes.
The System Director of Pharmacy leads pharmacy leaders across the system, including site‑based directors/managers, clinical managers, and operational leaders, ensuring alignment with Munson Healthcare’s strategic vision, True North goals, and operating system. This role is accountable for overall pharmacy financial performance, workforce planning, pharmacy informatics, strategy, medication safety, and advancement of pharmacy practice. Represents Munson Healthcare Pharmacy regionally and nationally as appropriate.
Qualfications What’s Required
PharmD or 4‑year Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
Graduate of an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy
Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MS, or related Masters)
7 Health system pharmacy leadership experience
Preferred – Completion of ASHP‑accredited residency (PGY1 or PGY1+PGY2 in administration)
Required Licensed Pharmacist Licensed or eligible for licensure in Michigan
Additional Information Preferred Board Certification BPS certification strongly preferred.
Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
