About The Role

The OGC Analyst – Conflicts, Laterals is an integral part of Latham’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) team. This role will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and acting upon conflicts reports regarding incoming lateral candidates to the firm, including partners, counsel, associates, trainees, staff, and potentially portable new client business, while validating that the requirements for the conflicts check are accurate according to the information provided by the lateral candidate through the conflicts questionnaire. This role may be located in one of our Boston, New York, Houston, Los Angeles, or Washington, D.C. offices, and may be eligible for a flexible hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

Administer the conflicts review for all lateral attorney candidates, assisting the candidate with the completion of the conflicts questionnaire.

Obtain guidance from attorneys or other conflicts staff who understand jurisdictional requirements to properly evaluate the lateral conflicts check.

Analyze conflicts reports to determine matters that require additional review, communicating follow‑up questions to attorneys, or suggesting Ethics Committee action.

Prepare a summary of information from the conflicts report analysis and follow‑up responses, and report conflicts resolution of issues to sponsoring attorneys and the recruiting departments.

Work with OGC leadership to ensure work is addressed efficiently and follows guidance from supervisors and managers regarding the triage of work.

Protect and maintain any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information retained by Latham & Watkins.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrate an advanced ability to perceive and analyze problems, and develop alternative strategies to solve them.

Display well‑developed, professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively interface with attorneys, management, support staff, and outside contacts.

Possess the organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, handle multiple deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent; a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a law firm or other professional services firm.

Experience with Intapp Open software, preferably.

Pay Range: USD $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 / year.
