Engineer - Nuclear Steam Supply System (Remote Eligible, U.S.) Remote eligible.

Systems engineering is a cross‑functional discipline focused on aligning business and technical needs to deliver high‑quality products that meet user requirements.

This role is a key member of the Fleet Systems Engineering team, interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines, business managers, project managers, and customers. The engineer will support operating boiling water reactor plants, ensuring functional, business, and company objectives are met in a dynamic project environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Deliver high‑quality engineering designs for nuclear steam supply systems at operating boiling water reactor plants.

Develop cost‑effective solutions to complex engineering problems for new or improved plant components and system‑level analyses.

Create drawings and specifications that meet engineering and quality requirements.

Provide emergent customer support as needed.

Engage customers to define scope, review results, and discuss technical risks.

Work with the technical lead to establish effective work plans, including time estimates, schedule estimates, requirements, and work processes.

Apply engineering fundamentals and first‑order principles to confirm expected performance.

Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GE Vernova Hitachi engineering procedures.

Manage time to deliver quality deliverables within the expected project timeline and communicate status to leadership.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.

Desired Qualifications

Background in nuclear power plant design and/or operations.

Experience with nuclear steam supply system technology in boiling water reactor plants.

Fundamental knowledge of nuclear steam supply systems and integrated plant response at boiling water reactor plants.

Honest, straightforward, and with a high level of personal integrity.

Strong personal commitment, determination, and a detail‑oriented focus on results.

Excellent communication skills with credibility and humility.

Strong drive for continuous improvement.

Eligibility Requirements

Preferred work location: GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; highly qualified U.S. remote candidates will be considered.

This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Final offers are contingent on the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export‑controlled information from the U.S. Government.
