Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB and serves as the direct customer interface for all things related to information technology, telephone, project management and infrastructure.

Responsibilities This job serves as a member of the Agency Service team with responsibilities in partnering with the Departments of Treasury and the Michigan Gaming Control Board. The position will be accountable for the customer support relationship and expectations of the client agencies and providing overall accountability for the delivery of services. This position has ultimate responsibility to assure customer service is provided to the agency partner’s satisfaction. Strategic planning will also be a focus.

Signing Bonus This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500, up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12 months). This does not apply to current state employees.

Position Location / Remote Office The office location is Dimondale, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. DTMB currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Education

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.

Possession of an associate’s degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

Experience

Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
