Senior Solar Project Engineer
Remote‑friendly role with expectation of semi‑regular travel to the headquarters in New Jersey.
Salary: $130,000 - $160,000, commensurate with experience.
About the Company We are partnered with a 20‑year established, leading, national renewable energy EPC, specializing in Community, C&I Distributed Generation and small Utility‑Scale projects. Their installations include commercial solar rooftops, solar carports & canopies, ground‑mount systems, energy storage, microgrids, community solar, and solar decommissioning. They offer turnkey solutions from project development right through to operations & maintenance.
The Role This position leads design, engineering, and technical project management for Solar PV systems, overseeing projects from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering : Lead system layouts, electrical designs, and energy production estimates using AutoCAD, PVsyst, PVcase, and Helioscope.
Project Management : Oversee projects from feasibility to commissioning, ensuring on‑time delivery and budget adherence.
Technical Leadership : Act as a solar technology expert, mentor junior engineers, and ensure regulatory compliance (NEC, UL, ASCE).
Permitting & Compliance : Coordinate with agencies, utilities, and regulators for necessary approvals.
Quality Assurance : Review technical specs, conduct site assessments, and optimize system performance.
Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
5+ years in Solar PV engineering (rooftop, ground‑mounted, single‑axis tracker)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, PVcase, Helioscope
Knowledge of interconnection requirements, permitting, and regulations
