Strategic Resources, Inc. SRI seeks committed professionals to provide critical services to military members, Department of the Army civilians, and their families.

Overview Ready and Resilient Performance Centers provide instruction in resilience, positive psychology, and performance enhancement to U.S. Army and Department of Defense personnel, their families, and Department of the Army civilians at 35 Army installations within the United States and overseas. Performance Experts (PEs) deliver instruction in these areas and must complete a certification process after hire to become a certified Army Performance Expert.

Scope PEs teach mental skills, resilience, and performance enhancement techniques in group and individual settings. They provide general education in human performance and personalized training on how to acquire and apply specific mental skills and techniques that build mental and emotional strength. The mental skills taught include Building Confidence, Goal Setting, Attention Control, Energy Management, Integrating Imagery, and Team Building. PEs help clients become high‑performing “tactical athletes” and foster high‑performing “unit teams” in preparation for, during, and following combat operations. They also provide tailored education to support Wounded Warriors transitioning back to units or civilian life. Program teams consist of 4–20 PEs led by a Performance Center Manager with prior military experience.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Attend training exercises and field operations to serve as a performance enhancement consultant, coaching clients and leaders on performance psychology techniques and their application to individual military tasks and unit operations.

Provide tailored educational programs and workshops to help families and civilians living and working in demanding environments achieve success and accomplish personal, professional, and family goals.

Recommend improvements to all aspects of program operations.

Perform routine program operational duties.

Conduct assessments, assist in program evaluation, and support local research projects.

Assist or provide program overview briefings to VIPs and high‑ranking leaders when required.

Develop and maintain professional development relating to all aspects of performance enhancement, academic proficiency, and military‑related knowledge.

Required Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Counseling Education, Coaching Education, Sport Psychology, Performance Psychology, or Kinesiology with emphasis in sport and/or performance psychology.

Experience in training and coaching mental performance and resilience skills for Soldiers, Department of the Army civilians, and associated family members. No counseling services related to behavioral matters are provided.

Membership in a professional association such as the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP), Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), or American Board of Sport Psychology (ABSP) is desired.

Teaching or coaching experience, preferably with military and DOD personnel.

Must become a certified Army Performance Expert within six months of hire.

Ability to operate general office equipment including computer, phones, and related devices on most workdays.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines.

Travel throughout the United States, sometimes on weekends, and adhere to government travel policies.

Physical requirements: active, ability to lift or move equipment up to 40 lbs., ability to perform tasks on hands and knees, participate in physical activities with clients.

Comfortable with coaching during military live‑fire exercises and exposure to gunfire during specific coaching events.

Tolerant of all weather environments, including inclement weather.

Maintain confidentiality.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
