About the Team You’ll be joining the North America Controllership team—an integral part of Visa’s Global Finance organization, part of the broader Global Controllership function within Global Finance.
About The Role We’re seeking a forward-thinking Senior Accounting Manager to lead and elevate our North America Controllership team. In this high‑impact role, you’ll drive operational excellence, lead a talented team, and champion innovation through automation and process transformation.
What You’ll Do
Lead with purpose: Inspire and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Own the close: Oversee the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting deliverables.
Drive transformation: Spearhead automation and process enhancements to streamline operations, reduce close timelines, and implement scalable automations and AI‑powered solutions.
Strengthen controls: Ensure robust internal controls and SOX compliance, supporting audit readiness and documentation excellence.
Collaborate cross‑functionally: Partner with FP&A, Tax, Finance Systems, and operational teams to simplify and scale financial processes.
Support SEC reporting: Assist in preparing quarterly reporting packages that feed into our external filings.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 8 or more years of relevant work experience, with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5 years of experience with an advanced degree (Master’s, MBA, JD, MD), or 2 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications: 9 or more years of relevant work experience, with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an advanced degree, or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
Additional Information Work Hours:
Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements:
5–10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements:
The position will be performed in an office setting. It requires sitting and standing at a desk, communicating in person and by telephone, and operating standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

Salary may vary depending on job‑related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
