Tax Supervisor
The Tax Supervisor is responsible for overseeing tax compliance and reporting for the organization. This role involves managing the tax team, ensuring accurate tax filings, and providing strategic tax planning to optimize the company's tax position.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the tax compliance process, including preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns.
Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with tax regulations.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
Assist in audits and inquiries from tax authorities as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Experience in public accounting with a focus on tax services is preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
