OSI Engineering
We are seeking a highly motivated RF Test Engineer to join our hardware reliability and validation team. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience running over-the-air (OTA) and RF tests, performing conducted station testing, and characterizing complex datasets. Having some background in automation or coding for analyzing data.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and document RF and OTA reliability tests, including:
RF performance and sensitivity testing
Must be able to analyze data and determine whether signals are passing, failing, or showing abnormal behavior
Test various units and test stations to understand the root cause of failures, whether software- or hardware-related.
Chamber-based OTA testing
Stress and aging tests under various conditions
Perform conducted station testing (wired RF measurements) to characterize device performance at the RF front-end and system level.
Ability to develop scripts or tools (e.g., Python or MATLAB) to automate data processing or test tasks.
Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, RF setups, and test equipment issues during execution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate failures and drive corrective actions.
Prepare clear test reports and summaries for engineering teams and leadership.
Continuous improvement of reliability test methods, RF/OTA test coverage, and data workflows.
Design and run long‑term reliability test campaigns under temperature, power cycling, and some other stress conditions.
Clean, process, and characterize data, support performing statistical analysis and trend identification.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of experience in reliability testing, RF/OTA testing, or hardware validation.
Hands‑on experience with RF test equipment (spectrum, analyzers, and signal generators, VNAs, power meters) and OTA chambers.
Experience with conducted station testing for RF characterization.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize complex datasets.
Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, UWB, or GNSS wireless technologies.
Familiarity with statistical tools or data libraries (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, JMP, R).
Understanding of test automation frameworks and lab equipment control (GPIB/LAN/USB).
Strong collaboration, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
Type: Full time
Location: San Jose, CA (may work remote depending the projects)
Pay Rate: $56-$66
