Responsibilities

Lead strategic capture activities for all assigned pursuits, displaying executive presence and inspiring confidence under stress.

Provide critical leadership on major business development and capture efforts from win strategy development through the post‑submission phases.

Brief senior management on capture status at specified milestones.

Direct plans and activities to assist business development in increasing revenue, growth, and profit in support of long‑term strategy.

Develop and implement the overall capture plan and strategy, building internal and external partnerships.

Apply the Shipley competitive model and lead win strategy development sessions (technical, management, teaming, past performance, staffing, pricing).

Identify customer hot buttons, align marketing intelligence with the win strategy, and conduct competitive assessments and price‑to‑win efforts.

Motivate and energize the team to produce a differentiated proposal that tells a clear and compelling story of “Why Akima.”

Qualifications

Clear understanding and experience winning IT solutions (Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise IT, Cloud Migration, Cybersecurity, Software Development, Data Server Consolidation, IT Modernization).

Track record of winning $50M to $100M+ single‑award captures with at least one win in the last 2–3 years.

Experience working with DoD customers and FedCiv agencies is a plus.

Demonstrated market analysis and strategic business planning expertise.

Deep knowledge of the federal procurement process, acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors.

Strong presentation and proposal writing skills; ability to lead interdisciplinary teams.

Ability to support multiple captures simultaneously based on anticipated RFP release dates.

Problem‑solving, decision‑making, organization, time‑management, and sales presence.

Availability to travel as business dictates.

Four‑year degree from an accredited university.

Hybrid position requires residence within commuting distance of Herndon, VA.
