The Naval & Oceanic Systems business unit headquartered in Annapolis, MD is seeking dependable individuals willing to work in a collaborative environment and interested in expanding their horizons. The Hardware Engineering Department is seeking a front‑line Supervisor to lead one of the SONAR Engineering Groups and the entire Dolphin Works lab administratively.

Responsibilities

Functional management of ~12 engineers and coordination of personnel career development and training.

Workload forecasting, implementation of engineering process improvement initiatives, performance reviews, merit planning.

Estimating and proposal development; budget and schedule development.

Technical reviews and recruitment, interviewing, and hiring.

Technical oversight and execution leadership in the design, analysis, build, and test of complex SONAR systems hardware and management of the DolphinWorks sonar innovation lab.

Regular interfacing with facilities maintenance teams for physical plant support and campus leadership for internal funding sources.

Inform investments and ongoing sustainment of the AEDN (Annapolis Engineering Development Network) as an Environment Manager curating this dedicated network for our Sonar Design team in cooperation with ISSE, ISSO, and network admins.

Interfacing with Government Representatives and other contractors in the performance of their daily duties.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

BS in Electrical, Aerospace, Materials, Mechanical, Marine or Ocean Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams as a functional manager, program manager, Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead, and/or other significant leadership role.

Proficiency in using common engineering design, production, and office tools (including PSpice, DxDesigner/Expedition, Unigraphics, MATLAB, ANSYS/COMSOL, NX, TeamCenter, FEA, MS Office, PDM systems).

US citizen with an active Secret clearance to start and the ability and willingness to obtain a TS/SSBI and pass a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with underwater/naval systems such as Torpedo’s, Towed Vehicles, Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV), Submarines, etc.

Background in sonar arrays, sensors, communication arrays, transducers, or radar.

Experience in design, manufacture, and test of sonar transducer systems.

Familiarity with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.).

Previous design or testing experience with comms/sonar/radar receivers.

Interest in seeing production sonar systems through manufacturing and test, locally, with the possibility of travel to field sites for final sell‑off testing.

A current TS/SSBI/SCI clearance to start and the ability and willingness to obtain a TS/SSBI and pass a polygraph.

Salary Range $153,800.00 – $230,800.00 (Base salary; overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and potential long‑term incentives may be available).
