Summary : Tumbler is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead all supply chain, logistics, fulfillment, and inventory operations as we continue to scale. This role is responsible for building and operating a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable operations function that supports rapid growth and an exceptional customer experience. The Operations Director will own supplier and 3PL relationships, set inventory and logistics strategy, and establish the processes, systems, and metrics needed to operate efficiently at scale. This is a highly cross‑functional leadership role suited for someone who can balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution and who thrives in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end supply chain, inventory, logistics, and fulfillment operations
Define inventory strategy, including safety stock levels, reorder points, and SKU health targets
Oversee demand forecasting accuracy and approve forecast updates
Own supplier relationships, including pricing, lead times, payment terms, and contract negotiations
Monitor supplier performance, resolve production issues, and approve samples, packaging, and product specifications
Manage the 3PL relationship, including SLAs, performance reviews, fulfillment configurations, and process changes
Audit and approve monthly 3PL invoices and fulfillment costs
Define inbound and outbound freight strategy to balance cost, speed, and reliability
Negotiate carrier contracts and manage escalations related to freight or customs issues
Ensure quality standards, testing programs, certifications, and regulatory documentation are maintained
Track defect trends and partner with suppliers to drive quality improvements
Own key operational KPIs, including inventory turns, accuracy, COGS, freight costs, and fulfillment cost per order
Oversee monthly cost reporting, variance analysis, and support budgeting and cost‑reduction initiatives
Develop SOPs and continuously improve operational processes across the supply chain
Lead or support implementations and enhancements to ERP, WMS, and e‑commerce systems
Identify and drive efficiency, automation, and scalability improvements
Qualifications
5–10+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, or fulfillment roles
Proven experience owning and managing supplier and 3PL relationships
Strong analytical and forecasting skills, with experience using data to drive decisions
Demonstrated success leading process improvements and operational scaling initiatives
Experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing external partners
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives
Comfortable operating in both strategic and hands‑on capacities
Highly organized, accountable, and able to operate effectively in a fast‑moving environment
