Environmental Procurement Category Specialist – Vice President
The Environmental Procurement Category Specialist is responsible for ensuring Citi’s purchasing practices are aligned with Citi’s Net-Zero goals and compliance to regulations. This role is essential to integrating environmental sustainability into Citi’s purchasing activities, helping reduce Citi’s environmental footprint while driving efficiencies and cost savings.
Responsibilities
Ensures Citi’s purchasing practices align with Sustainability goals and regulations, with primary focus on Environment and Net-Zero goals.
Integrates Environmental Social and Economic considerations into procurement processes for high impact spend categories.
Partners with Category leads to develop and implement sustainability into category management strategies, focusing on reducing environmental impacts and promoting social responsibility.
Establishes Category based Environmental KPI framework.
Develops sustainable sourcing evaluation matrix and scorecards, and evaluates supplier responses to ensure alignment with Citi expectations and goals.
Assesses targeted suppliers’ sustainability performance and supports supplier contract negotiations that incorporate sustainability performance standards (where required).
Conducts market research to identify suppliers and aligns with Citi’s Net-Zero and other Sustainability goals, analyzing market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders (Sourcing/Category Leads/Key business Stakeholders) and communicates awareness of key sustainable sourcing initiatives.
Supports sustainability reporting, contributing to reports on environmental performance and progress towards sustainability goals.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of Environmental regulations and best practices.
Sustainable Procurement Certification highly preferred (e.g., AC-SGPES, CSP, CSPM).
Knowledge in Supply Chain management and logistics.
Procurement processes and Category Management experience.
Ability to analyze data and identify cost savings opportunities leveraging lifecycle cost and impacts, including Total Value Ownership (TVO).
Education
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree.
