The Claims Manager is responsible for enterprise-wide claims management with a heavy focus on multi-state General Liability, Auto Liability and Workers’ Compensation claims. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of complex and litigated claims and can strategize cost‑saving resolutions. This position will interface daily with internal stakeholders as well as defense attorneys, insurance carrier adjusters, and third‑party administrators. The candidate will need to have a deep understanding of claim reserving practices to ensure proper claim valuations. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing workflows and prioritization of high severity claims. This position is on‑site.

Base pay range $122,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Apply knowledge and expertise in legal concepts related to workplace injuries, auto liability bodily injuries and third party bodily injuries, and property damage including remedies, defenses, and regulatory considerations.

Effectively collaborate with Third‑Party Administrators (TPAs), Occupational Health partners, insurance carriers, and other external providers critical to improving claims results.

Develop and execute strategic claims resolution plans, leveraging advanced adjusting expertise to address large exposure cases.

Quantify potential exposures and implement strategies to mitigate risk effectively.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of claims trends and analytics to identify areas for improvement and cost mitigation.

Prepare and distribute routine reports to various levels of the organization, along with analytical insights to enable advancement of business objectives.

Act as a resourceful problem‑solver, identifying and leveraging internal and external resources to drive resolution.

Foster a collaborative environment with carriers, brokers, attorneys, and internal teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Suggest innovative approaches to reduce claims frequency, severity, and overall organizational risk, to be considered for implementation by Risk, Safety, and Operations functional leaders.

Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on claims management best practices and strategies.

Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Effectively supervise and lead the Sr. Claims Specialist.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

7+ years of experience in multi‑line and multi‑state claims management.

Advanced knowledge of claims adjusting, legal strategies, and insurance practices.

Proven experience managing high‑exposure claims and developing risk mitigation strategies.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make data‑driven decisions.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships across diverse groups.

Exceptional organizational skills to manage intermittent program oversight.

Professional certifications such as Associate in Claims (AIC) or similar are a plus.
