We are seeking a
Director of Operations
to lead and integrate multiple operations teams and departments at a client site in South Windsor, CT. This role is responsible for translating operations strategy into short‑and‑long‑term execution plans, establishing a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and on‑time delivery objectives are met.
The Director of Operations will oversee multiple managers and departments, drive LEAN initiatives, manage budgets and forecasting, and partner cross‑functionally to deliver value to both the organization and its clients. Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership & Execution: Oversee day‑to‑day operations across multiple production departments; ensure customer requirements, quality, safety, and on‑time delivery goals are met or exceeded; translate operations strategy into short‑ and long‑term plans; establish a vision, systems, and culture that drive continuous improvement.
People Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop managers and teams; attract, develop, and retain top talent; coordinate training, mentoring, and development programs; promote ethical leadership and accountability across teams.
Planning, Budgeting & Performance Management: Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and unit cost results; monitor performance metrics and drive corrective actions; establish clear departmental and individual goals using a LEAN mindset.
Cross‑Functional & Client Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business units and customers; ensure product knowledge remains current and customer expectations are exceeded; collaborate across the organization to share best practices.
Process Improvement, Compliance & Vendor Management: Drive continuous process improvement initiatives; establish processes and procedures for audits and inspections; ensure adherence to policies, regulations, and industry standards; oversee vendor management, supply chain coordination, and production planning.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience
6–8 years of related operations leadership experience
Strong leadership, analytical, and decision‑making skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
