Job Description And Duties The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is seeking a motivated, team‑oriented Staff Services Manager I (SSMI) to oversee the Monitoring and Laboratory Division’s (MLD) Administrative Section (AS). The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the work of five staff within the AS, who provide analytical support services in the areas of procurement, contracts, budgets, grants, travel, training, and personnel. The SSMI will exercise a high degree of initiative and independence and possess extensive knowledge of State administrative procedures. The SSMI has primary management oversight for and provides leadership, direction, and supervision to the staff within the AS. The incumbent is responsible for working with their management team to establish and enforce policies, plan and manage budgets, contracts, equipment, and staff resources to ensure effective and efficient operation of the section.
