Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end ocean freight operations for import and export shipments.

Develop and maintain relationships with ocean carriers and trucking companies.

Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service agreements to optimize cost and service quality.

Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.

Monitor shipment schedules, transit times, and cargo status; proactively resolve delays, disruptions, and claims.

Oversee documentation accuracy, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs filings.

Lead, train, and supervise ocean freight staff; set performance goals and conduct evaluations.

Analyze KPIs such as on-time delivery, detention/demurrage, and carrier performance.

Collaborate with internal teams (sales, warehousing and distribution, trucking, customs) to achieve business objectives.

Manage budgets and control costs related to ocean freight operations.

Identify process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and service reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field preferred

10+ years of experience in ocean freight operations, freight forwarding, or international logistics

Prior supervisory or management experience required

Proficiency in ERP platforms and MS Office

Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills

Bilingual in English and Korean

Pay

$110,000 - $130,000
