Job Description UC San Diego Health is seeking a Senior Revenue Cycle Application Analyst (Epic PB Claims) who will serve as a technical leader with advanced expertise in Epic Revenue Cycle applications, including Professional Billing, Charge Router, Single Billing Office, Claims, Remittance, and Research Billing.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing, building, testing, and implementing Epic Revenue Cycle application systems.
Providing project management, customer service, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Leading charge testing for new departments and clinics, visit type consolidation, and handling charge‑related issues and requests.
Expert builder of charge router/handler systems.
Collaborating closely with Revenue Cycle operations, third‑party vendors, and other application teams on a daily basis.
Implementing Query Chaining, utilizing the MSP Indicator, Plan Mapping, and Auto Coverage Creation.
Minimum Qualifications
Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, or Bachelor’s Degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training (related experience: Epic build experience in Claims and Remittance).
Broadly encompassing or highly in‑depth knowledge of one to two areas of clinical applications specialty areas.
Advanced problem‑resolution skills to diagnose and develop solutions for highly complex issues.
Advanced interpersonal communication skills to train, support, and collaborate with clinical users and stakeholders.
Advanced organizational and project management skills, including team leadership and project completion on schedule.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical information across all professional levels.
Advanced analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, applying metrics, planning and testing systems, and producing substantive reports for management.
Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource, providing guidance on system improvements, upgrades, and industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications
Epic PB Claims & Remittance Certification.
Epic PB Administration Certification.
Epic Charge Router Certification.
Project Management experience.
Revenue Cycle background and experience that provides an understanding of healthcare operations.
