Fellowship Coordinator/Finance Analyst

Job Summary
The Fellowship Administrator applies extensive knowledge of clinical, programmatic, institutional, accreditation, and financial aspects of the Department of Pathology’s fellowship training programs. There are three complex ACGME accredited fellowships and two non-ACGME fellowships.
Responsibilities Duties include: residency/fellowship management, database creation and maintenance; site visits; accreditation activities; qualitative and quantitative compliance reporting; maintain and update program policies and curricula; create multisite and interdisciplinary rotation schedules; develop learner and program assessments; compile evaluation data for review committees; advise on training program administration policies; train, supervise, and mentor subordinates; manage resource, payroll, HR onboarding, recruiting, appointments, credentialing, visa processing; and understand accrediting body and university policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to graduate medical education. The incumbent must be able to travel to various work sites on a regular basis. Note: Fingerprinting and background check are required. Uses professional financial services concepts; resolves moderate scope financial issues; manages billing, collections, and operational transactions including cashiering, accounts receivable/payable, purchasing, recharge billing, and travel/entertainment. Acts as department’s MyExpense reimbursement reviewer, providing guidance and recommendations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience.
1+ years of related experience.
Experience with APeX Edits solving, patient billing issues, and professional billing claims management.
Knowledge of MyExpense processes, policies, and procedures; serve as Reviewer.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, multi-tasking, organizational, verbal and written communication, sound judgment, and decision making.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Adaptability to changing priorities.
Intermediate knowledge of internal control practices.
Coaching and mentoring skills for support staff.
Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.

Department Description The Department of Laboratory Medicine oversees the Clinical Laboratories at UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights, UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion, China Basin, San Francisco VA Health Care System, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, and Benioff Children Hospital Oakland. The Clinical Laboratories perform a large menu of diagnostic laboratory tests in hematology, immunology, microbiology, transfusion medicine, genomics, metabolism, toxicology, and chemistry. Each hospital is served by a clinical laboratory at its site, with an additional central laboratory located at our China Basin facility. The Department has over 50 faculty engaged in biomedical research.
