Our partner, a US-based lower middle market real estate private equity firm, is seeking an Asset Management Associate to join its Miami office. This role offers significant hands‑on exposure across a diverse, needs‑based real estate portfolio and a strong long‑term career trajectory for high performers.
About the Role H&P has been mandated by a specialist real estate private equity firm focused on complex, opportunistic investments across US residential and commercial real estate.
Founded in 2007, the firm manages approximately $2.5bn AUM and has executed 120+ investments with total capitalization exceeding $2.8bn. Its strategy spans opportunistic and value‑add investments, including development, distressed situations, long‑term hold strategies, and structured capital solutions with significant downside protection.
The platform invests both directly and alongside top‑tier operating partners, leveraging deep sector‑specific operating expertise across:
Residential: Multifamily, student housing
Commercial: Self‑storage, small‑bay industrial, parking
The firm operates with a lean, high‑calibre team across New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, offering Associates early responsibility and visibility.
This role is 100% asset management-focused (not acquisitions) and is ideal for candidates who enjoy working deeply within assets to drive performance, execute business plans, and manage operating partners.
Key Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day asset management of a portfolio of US real estate investments
Financial and operational analysis of asset‑level performance
Monitoring and evaluating business plans alongside operating partners
Supporting value creation initiatives across multifamily, student housing, and commercial assets
Preparing internal materials and performance reporting for senior investment professionals
Working closely with senior leadership on asset‑level decision‑making
Your experience
2–5 years’ experience in real estate private equity, asset management, or a highly detail‑oriented financial role (e.g. accounting or similar)
Prior asset management experience strongly preferred
Strong financial, analytical, and organisational skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assets simultaneously
Willingness and ability to be based in Miami
Interest in long‑term growth within a real estate investment platform
