Job Duties The Institutional Research & Reporting Lead coordinates and oversees reporting activities performed by the Office of Institutional Planning & Analysis (IP&A). Key responsibilities include:
Collecting, analyzing, and submitting student and instructional data to the CSU Chancellor’s Office, state and federal agencies, accreditation bodies, and internal stakeholders.
Building relationships with systemwide contacts, attending CO meetings and user groups, and acting as an internal liaison among campus departments.
Improving data quality and business processes, reconciling information from disparate sources, and supporting the IP&A Director in operational improvements.
Managing the campus ad‑hoc data request process: intake, tracking, workload management, and stakeholder consultation.
Leading the IP&A team: providing direction, mentorship, and serving as an individual contributor on reports and analytic projects.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a social or behavioral science, psychometrics, economics, mathematics, data or computer science, public or business administration, or related field with comparable preparation in research methods, statistics, and data analysis. Graduate‑level training preferred.
Five years of progressively responsible administrative, technical, and professional analytical experience, including development, maintenance, integration, and analysis of large‑scale data sets for educational research and reporting.
Demonstrated leadership experience – formal supervision of staff or informal leadership such as project management, mentorship, and training.
