Principal System Security Engineer (P4) Raytheon is seeking a well‑qualified Principal System Security Engineer (P4) to join our Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team in Fullerton, CA. This onsite position focuses on developing holistic security solutions for embedded weapons systems, leveraging cyber security, software assurance, and supply chain risk management.

Location Fullerton, CA; Raytheon office – 1801 West Hughes Drive, Building 675, 92834 USA.

Security Clearance Secret – Current. U.S. citizenship required for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead the SSE team under the radar software maintenance contract.

Interact with the customer to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts and effectiveness.

Develop plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting and risk identification and mitigation plans.

Lead the development of Risk Management Framework (RMF) documents for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation.

Ensure compliance with NIST RMF security controls and NSA security requirements for radar.

Consult and assist program management with SSE architecture and issues.

Support the development of bids and proposals.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s Degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.

Active U.S. government‑issued DoD Secret clearance required before start date.

Experience in using and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.

Experience developing BASH, Python or PowerShell scripts.

Qualifications We Prefer

Hands‑on experience with Windows, Cisco operating systems, system hardening, kernel tuning and internals.

Experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, test analysis, NIST RMF).

Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Team leadership or management experience.

Knowledge of earned value management and cost accounting.

Proposal writing experience and ability to articulate security solutions.

Certifications such as CISSP, GSLC, CEH.

Security testing and vulnerability scanning experience (Nessus, STIG, etc.).

Scrum leadership and Jira usage.

Salary US$112,000 – 224,000 per year (plus incentive compensation). Salary is competitive and reflects experience and role.
