Tesla has an outstanding opportunity for a results-driven Senior Structural Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team at our Fremont, CA factory. As part of the EPC group, this team is focused on designing, collaborating, and building the first home of Optimus while continuing to support critical vehicle programs. The role will support the design and construction of a variety of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities. You will be integral to the design and construction activities of multiple critical capex projects while working with internal and external stakeholders, interfacing with end users, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams. Responsibilities

Coordinate structural design on multidisciplinary project teams including Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgment Present 30% 60% 90% design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams Complete field work independently or with the design team Provide planning estimates with limited scoping information Manage structural projects from estimating through construction Allocate structural resources to meet project demands Direct, develop and mentor less experienced engineering staff Maintain and improve factory structural elements to meet long-term needs Qualifications

Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience Minimum 7 years of experience in structural design of commercial, industrial, or oil & gas industries Registered and in good standing as a Professional Engineer (PE) with active NCEES record and ability to acquire PE license in CA Familiarity with Revit Structural Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines and ability to work independently with minimal oversight Expert level understanding of California building code and structural design standards Expert in structural design with various materials such as steel, concrete, timber, masonry, Unistrut, cold-form steel and in structural steel welding and reinforcement details of concrete Expert in lateral (seismic/wind) design and related code requirement Expert in design considering constructability and construction sequence for fabrication/installation Expert in developing structural plans and details for Permit and Construction packages Benefits
