Role Overview Clayco Design and Engineering (CDE) invites a licensed Senior Structural Engineer to join its design team. You will collaborate with in‑house Development, Architecture, and Construction teams to provide Structural Design and Quality Assurance on industrial (distribution, manufacturing, food & beverage, and cold storage) projects for nationwide clients.

Responsibilities

Involved from the beginning to foresee preliminary design problems.

Focus on problem solving rather than finger pointing; the architect, engineer, and contractor work as one team.

Align project designs with construction schedules, delivering a fully finished package.

Use preliminary pricing advantages from historical construction experience.

Support value engineering throughout the design refinement.

Identify construction issues through input from the job site.

Design projects to the builder’s strength for easier engineering changes and revisions.

Participate in site and quality visits to solve field issues.

Build relationships with field staff such as superintendents and onsite personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis.

Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience designing commercial projects, ideally industrial (warehouse, distribution, e‑commerce, manufacturing, cold storage, food, and beverage).

PE and/or SE license is preferred.

Experience with 3‑D CAD is a plus.

Team‑oriented attitude.
